Tuesday’s Tales

Forever Yours

Forever Yours by Andrea Boeshaar, Gina Fields, Joyce Livingston, Kim O’Brien and Kathleen Y’Barbo is a novel about five couples given a second chance at romance.

About the Book

Enjoy the rollercoaster ride five modern couples take on the road that leads them back into a love that was meant to be. The ex-wife reads his work of fiction for an eye-opening revelation. The missing fiancée is returned to her home. A desperate wife gets one last Christmas with her husband before they divorce. The busy housewife wakes up to the drift occurring in her marriage. The low-key mom suddenly encounters her son’s high-profile dad.

My Thoughts

In Castle in the Clouds, the first book, by Andrea Boeshaar, the focus is on Wren and Nancie Nickelson, a recently divorced couple with two children.

Wren has always loved Nancie and wants nothing more than to make her happy. Nancie wants nothing more than to be a career woman and “free” of the oppression of her milquetoast husband. Complicating the situation are their two daughters, Alexa and Laura. Alexa is convinced her mom hates her since she looks like her dad and her mom seems to hate her dad. Laura just appears to float through the entire situation, accepting life as it comes.

Andrea Boeshaar has done a very credible job of showing the suffering, sorrow and difficulty encountered when a couple, especially one with children, separates and then divorces.

Familiar Strangers by Gina Fields is the second book in the series.

Sara Jennings is the single mom of Chloe. However, Sara has a problem-she was viciously attacked and now can’t remember who she really is.

Sara had formed a new life with the help of her friend Evelyn Porter. Sara now has a new job as a house cleaner and lives with her friend, Evelyn. However, a chance viewing of a television show leaves Sara shocked and confused.

Will she find out who she is? Is her whole life about to be turned upside down? In addition, what will happen to her daughter, Chloe?

Gina Fields has done an outstanding job of creating the right mix of reality and fantasy to create a page-turning story.

One Last Christmas by Joyce Livingston focuses on the lives of Sylvia and Randy Benson and their children.

Sylvia happens to see her husband at lunch with a beautiful co-worker at the time Randy told her he was meeting with a client. When she confronts him, he denies having an affair but says he wants a divorce.

Sylvia, reeling from pain and disbelief, asks Randy to give her one last Christmas. Convinced, unlike her husband, that their marriage is not dying a slow death, Sylvia sets out to win Randy back.

Joyce Livingston has portrayed the existence of a long time married couple, the Bensons, in a very true to life way. The story will resonate with many readers.

A Wedding Renewal in Sweetwater, Texas by Kim O’Brien is the fourth book in the Forever Yours Series.

Sylvia Baxter feels her husband, Wilson, has become The Invisible Man. She knows he has to work hard to support her and their boys, but she would really welcome and enjoy a little extra attention.

Sylvia decides, after consulting with her Bible study friends, to become the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman, but will she be able to and will it be enough to save her lackluster marriage?

Kim O’Brien’s portrayal mirrors many married couples. The years become crowded with children, work and the day-to-day routine, squeezing out romance and the idea of happily ever after.

Major League Dad by Kathleen Y’Barbo is the fifth and final story in the anthology.

Mason Walker and Blair Montgomery had divorced. They had planned on meeting one day seven months after the divorce was finalized; however, circumstances intervened and they didn’t meet again for almost ten years.

A chance encounter between Mason and Blair stops them in their tracks. Mason has never forgotten Blair; in fact, he still loves her. Blair has never forgotten Mason, either, but she hasn’t forgiven him for standing her up all those years ago, either. Moreover, where and how does Blair’s son, Sam, fit in?

Kathleen Y’Barbo has written an exceptional story of love, forgiveness and redemption by showing how waiting on the Lord can bring everything into place.

Each story is evocative of real life. People become angry, bitter and disillusioned, then divorce.  Day to day living threatens to erode what was once a strong marriage, and romance falls by the wayside.  And sometimes the unlikely and unexpected happens.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
