Apple Sophia Lim’s book Make a Wish for an Elephant explores the sequence of events that can happen when you don’t get exactly what you wish for. You can ask for an elephant to play with, expecting a friendly one, but instead get an angry, charging elephant!
The storyline is interactive, with cute little recommendations for children to follow, while also teaching kids how to listen to others. Furthermore, the children’s imagination is triggered, which fosters their ingenuity, inquisitiveness, and activity.

Make a Wish for an Elephant is a treat to read for adults and children alike. Moch. Fajar Shobaru’s illustrations are charmingly attractive and beautiful. The elephant appears to be benign and adorable, but watch out: he has a temper! With their vivid hues, the appealing images are attention-grabbing and striking, and will enchant young children.
The book is the third in the Make a Wish for a series, which is aimed at children aged three to seven years old. However, I feel that younger little ones would appreciate it as well. It is also possible to read the tale as a standalone.
