Robbie’s been in the hospital. She went in to the emergency room late Tuesday night after not feeling well for several weeks. They were going to do emergency surgery. However, they weren’t able to get it scheduled, so it was done Wednesday.
She had an incarcerated Ventral Abdominal Wall Hernia. This results when a portion of the bowel has poked through a tear in the abdominal wall. This, in turn, causes a stop to the blood flow through the bowel. A life-threatening situation if it became gangrenous.
Surgery, as opposed to previous surgeries, was easier to perform. It was still quite painful. Recuperation will be long. She has had over 5 abdominal surgeries in the last 3-4 years and several more in previous years. Each one comes with its own set of problems, including the tendency toward more internal complications, severe internal scarring which causes complications and increased pain, too.
We would appreciate prayers for her during this trying time. We will try to keep updating.
They don’t allow any visitors so we received little info due to work, school and day to day activities.
PLEASE NOTE: She will not be able to do her tours for some time.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
