My Review

Hannah Arduini and her mother, Julie Arduini, created and co-authored a beautiful story that will resonate with a female of any age.

The story focuses on Hayley Atkinson and Sabrina Wayson. Hayley is in middle school struggling with fitting in and hurtful lies, while Sabrina, a college graduate, is trying to figure out where her life is going and resolve feelings of unworthiness. Both of them suffer from low self-esteem, brought on by similar, but very different reasons. They join Linked, a mentoring program started by Sabrina’s parents, Sabrina as a mentor and Hayley as a mentee. However, they feel like frauds who can not really contribute to the group.

The book has many teachable moments for adults and young adults. One example from the mentoring group, Linked, is especially powerful. As you read, it is easy to relate, absorb and readjust some of your own stinkin’ thinkin’. Of course, real change and adjustment come from sincere desire, repentance and prayer- which is perfectly illustrated in the narrative.

A positive, thought-provoking tale designed to encourage readers to re-think their thoughts and emotions, You’re Beautiful reminds all of us we are daughters of God, His princesses, a truth regardless of what anyone, including ourselves, tells us.

I can’t wait for the other books in the series to come out. I want to read them, too!
