Saturday Silly

Midred was the church gossip and had appointed  herself as the authority over the church’s morals. She kept sticking her nose in other members’ private lives. The members did NOT appreciate  her activities, but were afraid enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic. This was after she saw his pickup truck parked in front of the town’s only bar one afternoon.

She commented to George and anyone else willing to listen, that everyone seeing it at the bar would know what he was doing.

George was a man of few words. He stared at her for a moment and then just walked away. He didn’t try to explain, defend, or deny anything; he said nothing.

That evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred’s house… and left it there all night!
